Vintage Christmas Ornaments

I've always been a big fan of anything leaning more towards the vintage side of the spectrum. Turns out I lucked out, and come from a family with the same love as well. Both of my grandmothers (mother included!) have always had homes full of antiques, either handed down from elder relatives or sought out from different antique shops. One of my favorite things about coming home for Christmas is seeing the dainty, vintage ornaments hanging on the trees. Aged from the 40's, 50's, and 60's, they are so delicate - almost fragile. Each one painted and glittered in a such a sweet way, and they only get prettier as they age. It's fun to mix new ornaments with older ones, but it's even more special to see a tree glittering with little colorful bulbs from the 'old days'. I personally feel as though the older ornaments  hold more character and charm. Of course I love photographing anything I find extremely pretty, so I've decided to share some of those photos with you on the blog. There are two sets: one set from one house, and the other set from a different house - you'll notice a different style in the two sets. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Much love from The Ivory Fawn.

Pt. II

  1. The ornaments you have are all lovely. I don't have any old/vintage ornaments simply because we have moved so many times, different countries and cities that we left stuff behind or gave away but I see that some things are worth keeping to create traditions.

  2. They look great, such a unique Christmas tree. It's so different to the traditional santas and snowmen that you usually find on a tree. x

  3. Ornaments are my favorite - especially when they have a story behind them. These look beautiful - they probably add so much class to the tree <3

  4. I don't have anything old or vintage. I have started a tradition of getting a family ornament every year. It makes me happy that I will have those in the future.

  6. I love the vintage style! I think once my kiddos get big enough to *not* worry each time they pass the tree, I may have a smaller tree for vintage ornaments only. So pretty!
