A Quick Message

A couple of days ago, I was reminiscing back on a memory I had from a few years back. I couldn't believe four years had passed just like that as it felt like I had experienced that memory only a few months ago. I also started thinking, "How is it October already? I remember New Years like it was yesterday." How had so much time passed already? Where did the time go? It baffled time.

Seasons, months, days - they all seem to pass us quicker and quicker with each passing year. The sheer accessibility of the internet just makes everything so readily available, right at our finger tips.. but there's a downfall to that instant window of the world. It's so easy to get wrapped up in the impalpable, to look at other people's photos rather than taking your own. To get wrapped up scrolling and reading. Do yourself a favor. Take the time and slow it down. Turn off your phone. Close your computer. Enjoy just existing for once. Just 'be'. It's an amazing and somewhat unfamiliar feeling. Leave your phone in your pocket or in your purse or wherever. Spend a few days steering clear of social media. Truly experience the world around you. So much is happening. Be apart of it. Don't be in such a rush. Be present physically and mentally. The changing of the seasons - especially fall, but not just fall - it's such a beautiful thing. Get outside and watch it happen. Take a walk in the woods. Take a blanket and go sit at a wooded park, surrounded by trees, and just observe. Just be in the moment. Bring a journal and write down some words. Set some new intentions. Breathe it all in. Be thankful you get to exist on a planet and experience such things. The years and months will pass by, but they don't have to slip through our fingers quite so fast.
