DIY: Avocado Face Mask


Face masks serve a number of purposes. Some of them are for cleansing while others are to tighten and etc. This one, however, is for nourishment and moisturizing. It's best used during the colder, drier season because it reverses to effects on your skin from the winter elements. 


Ingredients:

1/4 Avocado
1 teaspoon of honey
1/4 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar


Directions:

1. In a small bowl, mash the avocado and add honey + vinegar. I find that using a fork works best for this. Otherwise, you can also blend in a mini food processor or push through fine mesh sieve. 
2. Apply avocado mask to clean face and wait 10-20 minutes. Then remove with washcloth soaked in warm water and apply moisturizer.

Each ingredient in this mask plays an important role as each one has really great benefits. The avocado has oils that soften as well as antioxidants, like Vitamin E, that promote healing. The honey moisturizes and contains antibacterial properties. And lastly, the apple cider vinegar helps restore the skin's natural pH levels.
