A Day In My Life

Welcome to my first "Day In My Life" post! I thought it would be fun to share with you what some of my days consist of! Some people just take their camera with them everywhere and record their day, but I had no intentions of doing that. Instead I just took some photos to summarize up my day. I hope you enjoy this! Keep in mind, this is not my "typical every-day."

So I slept in this morning until 9:30 AM. It felt so good to sleep in. Normally on weekdays, I wake up for work at 5:45 AM so I really take advantage of my weekend mornings. I love being woken up from the sun shining in through the window. It gives you a really good feeling.

Breakfast! Gotta have a healthy breakfast. Watermelon, pineapple, muskmelon, orange, and dry multigrain cereal! This was actually my first time trying it, I bought it at the store yesterday as it looked really good. Typically I will eat Smart Start for cereal, but I wanted to try something even healthier. That non GMO is a huge perk too! Typically I've been trying to stick to raw fruit for breakfast. I've been doing some research on the Raw Till 4 diet and I'm not sure I could live off raw fruits and vegetables until dinner time...but breakfast is a start.

I took a bubble bath. Although I was planning to go hiking later on in day, I still like to start my day off right. Bubble baths are refreshing and when you have some good music playing (Courtney Barnett for this morning), it can really make you feel ready to take on the day. I like to keep my weekends as therapeutic as possible if I don't have much planned and this is one way of doing so. My job makes me exhausted and run down feeling at the end of every week, so weekends are my recharge time.  I used a lavender bubble bath that will be featured in my monthly favorites post coming up soon...keep and eye out for that! I also used a handful of epsom salts, 10 drops of lavender essential oil, and half a cup of baking soda. The combo is supposed to draw out toxins, lower stress-related hormones, and balance pH levels! I also read some of Real Simple magazine... Adulting I guess?

Around noon, we drove to the nearest state park and got a few miles in of hiking. It was so nice out. It was quite muddy though -my poor shoes :-(

After spending a few hours in the woods, we went home pretty exhausted but feeling so refreshed. The woods will do that. Refresh you.  I worked on some projects while Stacey watched It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and napped. For dinner we made a vegan tofu stir-fry. It was actually pretty good. Tofu can be a little funny when preparing and can end up not so good if you don't do it properly, but if you do it right, it's great! It was a good day overall. It was really nice getting outside while the sun was shining. It's important to spend at least ten minutes outside every day, but the longer the better.
