Winter Break 2015

Over the past week, my husband and I traveled nine hours to visit the place we call home. It was great to see everyone and everything again. It's always refreshing to get away from the city we now live in. I saw some really good friends, experienced some new things, and made some more  wonderful memories. I thought I would share some photos from that trip.

It snowed twice while we were home. It was SO nice to see some snow finally.

This is Buddy, my 11 year old black lab. He was my pal growing up. Unfortunately his health has declined and his days have become numbered so it was nice spending time with him one last time.

We stopped at a coffee shop called The Root Note that we've been meaning to check out for a long time now. They had a bathtub with fish! How neat is that. The atmosphere was really cool.

I just got a plain hot mocha. It was pretty good, I mean you can't go wrong with that, can you? No.
The Root Note was great, but Jules (another favorite coffee shop in the same town) will always be my number one favorite.

Meet Rosie! She's my grandma's (almost) 2 year old basset hound. She's the sweetest thing with crazy energy. It was hard getting a photo of her that wasn't blurry!

I miss the sunsets and being able to see miles and miles away.

My husband (middle) got to see some good friends of his.

I had the walnut and cranberry salad at a local coffee house, Simply, for the first time. It was pretty good! I'm all for trying new things lately.

It was great seeing family for Christmas. Living far away from home, I don't see everyone as often as I'd like it so I really cherish the moments I get with them.

With a few unfortunate events, I would say this was a successful trip home. I didn't get as many photos as I would have liked and I forgot to bring my camera with me half the time (hence why most of these are blurry phone pictures). The memories we made though are what matter the most I suppose, and there are some pretty good ones. With 2015 coming to an end, I look back and have so many great moments and I'm excited to see what lies next in 2016. As they always say,

"There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind."
