DIY: Christmas Peppermint Mocha Latte

With Christmas right around the corner, I wanted to share this "homemade" peppermint mocha latte recipe with you guys because I know that Starbucks can get a little expensive after awhile - plus it's fun to make your own coffee drinks once in awhile, am I right? However, I will mention that this recipe is VERY sugary. Most of the ingredients for this will most likely already be in your home, but otherwise at your local grocery store.

What You Need:
  • 1 cup brewed black coffee
  • 1/2 cup of hot milk
  • 1 tablespoon of crushed candy canes
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon of maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder

Mix all of that together and put in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. Add some whip cream, sprinkle on some cinnamon, and if you want you can add a candy cane! Also, I added a few crushed candy cane pieces to the top as well just for that extra touch.

This would even go great for a Christmas movie marathon night with friends!

Ok, I'm going to be real honest. This turned out a lot better than I thought it would. It tastes like an actual peppermint mocha that you might get at Starbucks or something. I drank it while I edited and put the post together and it was wonderful. Enjoy! If you try this out, please let me know and tell me what you think! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
