Beauty Products I REGRET Buying

I was really contemplating whether I wanted to post this or not, and I finally came to the conclusion that I might as well because some people might find it interesting. I'm always curious to know what people like and don't like. Anyways, I've decided to share with you six products I've purchased in the past and ended up not liking for various reasons.

(Note: I understand that everyone has different opinions and views on things, and I am not trying to persuade or talk anyone out of ever buying any of the products listed. Just sharing some of my personal experiences and preferences!)

So, I bought this Brow Envy eyebrow kit by Too Faced in the summer of 2014 and I was really anxious to try it out because I had always used a cheap eyebrow pencil from Target - so I was ready to upgrade!

It comes with three plastic eyebrow stencils, a mirror, two eyebrow powders (blonde & brunette) and a highlighter, setting wax, tweezers, and two brush tools (one of which I didn't have in the kit when I took this picture - oops). The packaging is pretty - most Too Faced products have cute packaging. But, I just really wasn't pleased with the product itself and I was really surprised by it because I figured I would like it a lot. First off, not that I planned to use the stencils, but when I did try them out - they didn't work. Just trust me on this one. Secondly, the powders were really dried out and not very well pigmented - I felt like I had to use a lot, and it still didn't look that good. Also, the tweezers weren't very grippy. I had a hard time plucking when I tried to use them. So, by looking at the picture, you can tell I've hardly used this kit at all in that last year and a half  that I've had it. However, when I read the reviews to make sure I wasn't alone on this opinion, I saw a lot of 5 star reviews. SO, I guess a lot of people have liked this eyebrow kit. Either way, I wouldn't recommend it to a friend.

This next item is from L'Oreal Paris and it's the Anti-redness Color Correcting Primer. I want to say I bought it around 2 years ago at Walgreens. It's supposed to go on as a primer before foundation to cover redness, but I really didn't feel like this helped much at all. There wasn't very much of a difference and it made my face look a little washed out.

The next product I regret buying is the Almay Intense I-color eyeliner. I used to love this stuff back in high school. I stopped buying it a long time ago after I discovered my new current favorite eyeliner, but then recently decided to give it a try again and somehow this time around, I don't like it. I just really have a hard time drawing on "sharp" wings with this stuff and I don't like the way it looks once it dries. I don't know, maybe I'm just being a Negative Nancy.

This the NAKED Illuminated by Urban Decay. I bought this in Arizona almost 2 years ago now, and the reason I bought it was because I had just also boughten the Mac Mineralize Skinfinish and I thought this would be the same thing, just in a different brand. Nope, this is more of just a glitter to put all over your face - not a highlighter. So, that was kind of my fault for not doing my research beforehand. I guess ultimately I wouldn't rate this really bad and I don't necessarily regret buying this, it just wasn't what I expected at all. I would definitely recommend it if you love glitter, but don't go mistaking it for a highlighter like I did.

Soooooooo, this stuff. I used to be a huge fan of Clinique and I still am for their foundation. I think I bought this over three years ago, and I've hardly used it since. What a waste, I know. (What a waste for all of this stuff, really.) Anyways, I had just finished a mascara so I was looking to get a new one when the lady working at the counter talked me into buying this mascara. She said that the new brush was a new "thing" and that everyone was going to love it because it worked wonders. She said, "It will make your lashes long and volumized and extra dark without looking like you have mascara on." Well, she was wrong. Very, very wrong. I'm actually not a fan of the brush, I think a normal brush would have worked better. Oh well, that's just me.

Last up, I bought this brow pencil by Maybelline at Target not too long ago actually. I decided to give it a try because I was still looking for something new to stick with for my brows, but I ended being a little disappointed. For one, I felt like even if I barely pushed hard, it was really dark and just didn't look good (I bought it in the shade blonde). I also felt like the product used really fast and I was constantly having to resharpen the pencil. It was pretty cheap though, luckily. 4/10.

I plan to post something along the lines of favorite beauty products eventually so stay tuned for that. Thanks for reading!!
