Music Favorites pt. I

So I've been thinking. My blog is geared towards lifestyle and personal preferences, with the exception of a few random posts. In saying that, I figured I would share with you a few of my favorite songs. However, the list of my "favorite songs ever" is way too long, and I don't think I would ever be able to list them all. These are just a a few of the songs I've been gravitating towards lately. Some of these songs are newer and some are older. It doesn't really make a difference to me. If I think it's good, I'll listen.

Music is so important to me. It's gets me through quite a bit, like most of you probably. I love it for that reason, but also the fact that I just enjoy the sound. Anyways, I'll stop blabbing now and get to it.

Side-note: The album covers above aren't necessarily the album covers for the songs listed below. I just put a few together from some random artists and albums that I just really enjoy in general. Makes total sense, right?

1. Broadripple Is Burning by Margot & The Nuclear So And So's (Daytrotter sessions version)
I honestly couldn't tell you the first time I heard this song, it's been so long ago. (I like any version of this song, but the daytrotter sessions version is my favorite.) The first time I heard it though, it went on repeat for quite awhile. I've loved this song dearly ever since. I'm not sure on the true meaning of the song, but the way I would interpret it is it's sort of a warning to whoever the song is addressed to. He doesn't want them to go through some of the things he's gone through.

2. Sparks by Jesse Woods
I heard this song around the time my husband and I first started dating (a long time ago) and it kind of became one of our songs. Yes, I said one of because we have more than one song - ha ha. It's basically just a song he has for someone he loves or likes - however you want to put it - and he can see them ending up together.

3. Autumn Tree by Milo Greene
By now you can probably tell I have a thing for sappy, happy, or sad, acoustic songs. I don't have much to say about this song, just that I really love this group. Their voices are so good together. Sheesh.

4. Luna by Bombay Bicycle Club
Finally, a more upbeat song, huh? "Luna" is latin for moon and the song is packed with references to celestial bodies. In the song, he compares a lover first to the moon, and then the sun. I just really like the sound of this song.

5. Queen of Peace by Florence and the Machine
If I had to pick a favorite female artist, I'd probably pick Florence Welch. If I had to pick a spirit animal, I'd probably pick Florence Welch. She literally radiates with beauty and her songs are so good. This song is off her new album that actually just came out this year. Every song of hers is just about equally good, but to choose a recent one, I choose this one. If you like her and haven't heard this one yet, listen. To name a few older favorites: Heartlines, Cosmic Love, No Light No Light, and What The Water Gave Me.

6. Soft Shock by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
This is another song that I loved from the minute I heard it. I believe what the song is about, is two lovers and one of them is realizing what they have/had is coming is an end. Not too sure though. I just enjoy the song over all.

7. Coffee by Sylvan Esso
Again, a song I love purely for the fact that it just sounds really good. Oh, and it's title is "coffee". I know the song has a deeper meaning than just coffee LOL, I just haven't listened closely to the lyrics yet.

8. Mr. Brightside by The Killers
All I have to say is, who doesn't like this song? The Killers will always have a special place in my heart.

Now it's your turn! What are some of your favorites?
(This is the part where you comment down below so I can check them out!)
